What's Proper
Please make yourself at home. Sit in my chair,
The comfortable, big recliner here,
And let me get you pretzels and a beer.
Would you prefer a glass of wine? Right. There,
With pâté de foie gras, which we can share.
Big-screen TV? New music? Books? Blue cheer?
Alone time on my own computer gear?
Whatever suits your fancy. I don't care,
Because I'm leaving. I took some pâté,
Dressed warm, and grabbed the doorknob, heading west.
I've kept a few thoughts closer to my chest
Than probably was proper, but I'd say
It doesn't matter, now I'm on my way.
Sit down, relax. You know yourself what's best.
